Printer Farm
From web order to despatch — one system, mostly on autopilot.

A customer orders on your website. Printer Farm pulls the order in, uses stock first, raises a works order for what's short, slices it in the browser, sends it to the first free printer, watches it print, banks it into stock and raises the delivery note. You confirm the bed is clear and press Despatch — the farm does the rest.

Sign in with your Ask The Nozzle account and your farm is live in about a minute. When the 14 days end, the trial just ends.
What you need: a computer that stays on — Windows or Linux — on the same network as your printers. A small agent runs there, bridges your printers to the dashboard and keeps your files on your own machine.

The dashboard: every printer live, whatever brand it is. Mixed fleets are the point.
The whole job, end to end

Order → slice → print → despatch

Most tools stop at watching printers. Printer Farm runs the job around them — and is honest about which steps are automatic and which are one click of yours.

01 · ORDER ARRIVES

Straight from your shop

Connect WooCommerce (one click, read-only key), Shopify — or your own custom website, through the farm's shop API. Orders pull in every 10 minutes and match to your part numbers by SKU — an unmatched product still imports and asks once.

Automatic
02 · STOCK FIRST

The shelf is used before anything is made

Each line shows what's in stock, what's allocated and what's still outstanding. Only the shortfall needs making — order four with one on the shelf and the job is for three.

Automatic
03 · WORKS ORDER

Raise exactly what's short

One click raises a works order that carries the due date and the customer's reference, so every print made for it traces back to the order. Shortages roll up across all open orders.

One click
04 · SLICE

In the browser, with the real OrcaSlicer engine

The Cloud Slicer: full Printer / Filament / Process presets, your own Orca profiles, STL / OBJ / 3MF / STEP, and your farm's printers as presets. Slices on your own PC by default — Workshop and Production can slice on our servers too. Or send straight from ATN Slicer.

You slice · every plan
05 · PRINT

The first free printer takes it

Queue to the pool and the farm assigns each job to the first free compatible printer with the right filament loaded, oldest job first. The next job waits until you confirm the bed is clear — an overnight batch can't print onto yesterday's part.

Automatic · you confirm the bed
06 · WATCHED & COUNTED

Every good print banks itself

Cameras and AI failure alerts, timelapses, the Telegram bot. Each finished print goes into stock and onto the works order; grams come off the spool; the true cost per part is recorded. Mixed plates split it fairly.

Automatic
07 · DESPATCH

Delivery note, courier, done

Ready to ship → put quantities against the lines, add courier and tracking, and the delivery note is raised. An order from your own website is marked shipped and the customer emailed by your site itself; WooCommerce and Shopify orders get a reminder to mark them sent.

One click

Part-shipped orders stay open and say so ("12 of 32 sent · 20 ready to go"). Four numbers always reconcile per line: ordered, covered, sent, still to go.

What's inside

Built around how parts actually get made

Monitoring is the easy half. Everything below is on every plan unless it says otherwise.

Your whole fleet on one screen

Status, temperatures, progress and cameras for every printer, side by side — Creality and any Klipper machine, Bambu Lab in LAN mode, FlashForge, OctoPrint, PrusaLink, Duet. Card view for the wall, list view for the numbers, and an installable phone app.

Every plan

Slice in the cloud — or on your PC

A full slicer in your browser, powered by the real OrcaSlicer engine: separate Printer / Filament / Process presets, your own Orca profiles imported in one go, STL / OBJ / 3MF / AMF / STEP (STEP converts right there in the browser), and your farm's printers as presets with their filament slots and nozzle count. Slicing runs on your own PC by default, so every core you own goes into it; Workshop and Production can slice on our servers too, so a slice still runs when that PC is off. The plate lands in the farm as a revision — or send it from ATN Slicer and save a revision back.

Orders straight from your shop

WooCommerce, Shopify and your own custom website (through the farm's shop API) feed the Orders board: what needs action, what's ready to ship, what's in production. Stock is used first and only the shortfall raises a works order; despatch raises the delivery note with courier and tracking, and an order from your own website is marked shipped and the customer emailed by your site. Nothing is ever dropped for a naming mismatch — it asks once and remembers.

Every plan

A queue that waits for a clear bed

Queue to a printer or to the pool — "any compatible printer" — and the farm dispatches to the first free machine with the right filament loaded. The next job won't start until you confirm the last part is off the plate. Batches auto-requeue on success only.

Every plan

Parts, works orders & the real cost

Every part has a number; every revision keeps its G-code, 3MF and CAD together with a 3D preview. Works orders carry a bill of materials and a routing, print a traveller for the bench, and count progress in good prints. Spools are deducted as they print, consumables carry reorder points, mixed plates split cost by weight, and smart plugs put the energy on the job too (Workshop & up).

Watched, serviced and answerable

Camera-based AI watches for spaghetti and failed first layers and alerts you before a bad print runs all night. Timelapses assemble themselves. Maintenance intervals are learned from your own service history. And you can just ask it — from Telegram or Teams: "what's printing?", "bed's clear on the K2, go again."

In practice

Built by a shop that runs on it

Printer Farm runs Graham Martin Racing's own production every day — carbon-composite motorsport parts, made to order, sold through its own custom website connected to the farm. The workflow below is the one it was built for.

Cloud Slicer

The real OrcaSlicer, in a browser tab

Pick one of your farm's printers and its filament slots come straight from the fleet. Load a STEP file from CAD and it converts in the browser. Slice on your workshop PC — or, on Workshop and Production, on our servers when that PC is off — and the plate becomes a revision the queue can use.

Orders

From your shop to a delivery note

The Orders board is organised by what needs doing, not by date. Take what you can from stock, raise the rest with one click, and despatch part-orders as the ordinary case — every box gets its own numbered delivery note.

The Orders board with needs-action, ready-to-ship and in-production groups
The queue

Dispatch to any compatible printer — safely

Drop jobs on the pool and the farm picks an idle machine that matches the material and the loaded filament. Between jobs it waits for your word that the bed is clear, whether that's a tap on your phone or a message to the chat bot.

The job queue with jobs assigned across several printers and a bed-clear confirmation
Works orders

Know what's short before you start

A works order for 40 of an assembly explodes into its parts, checks the shelf, and queues only what's missing. Progress is counted in good prints, not launched jobs, so a failure doesn't fool the tally.

A works order showing required, made and shortage quantities per part
Parts & revisions

One number, every version, all the files

Each revision keeps its G-code, 3MF and CAD together with a 3D preview and process notes. Slice in the browser or in ATN Slicer, save it as a new revision, and the queue uses the right one from then on.

Cameras & AI

An eye on every print

Camera snapshots on every card, live video on Workshop, remote streaming on Production. The AI monitor watches for spaghetti and failed first layers and alerts you on Telegram, Slack, Teams or WhatsApp — and you can teach it your printers so it learns what normal looks like on each one.

How it connects

Three steps, and your printers are on the dashboard

One small agent bridges your workshop to the cloud. Your files stay with you; the cloud is the dashboard.

01 · INSTALL THE AGENT

On a computer that stays on

Windows or Linux, on the same network as your printers, running as a boot service. It makes one encrypted, outbound connection — nothing to port-forward, nothing exposed on your network — and updates itself with a click, checksum-verified with rollback.

02 · ADD YOUR PRINTERS

The agent finds them

Pick a type and the agent discovers printers on your LAN — Moonraker for Creality K2 / Klipper, Bambu Lab discovery in LAN mode, FlashForge, OctoPrint, PrusaLink. Mixed brands are fine; that's what a real farm looks like.

03 · CONNECT YOUR SHOP

Then let the orders flow

WooCommerce in one click, Shopify with a token, or your own custom website through the farm's shop API (a token, no plugin). Match your products to part numbers once (SKUs that already match are filled in for you) and orders start landing on the board.

Common questions

What's automatic, and what do I still do?
Automatic: pulling orders from your shop, matching them to parts, using stock first and working out the shortfall, dispatching queued jobs to the first free compatible printer, watching prints, banking good prints into stock and the works order, deducting spools, costing each part. You: one click to raise the works order, slicing the plate (in the browser or in ATN Slicer), confirming the bed is clear between jobs, and pressing Despatch — plus marking WooCommerce/Shopify orders sent in the shop (your own website is updated for you through the API).
Can I really slice in the browser?
Yes — the Cloud Slicer is the real OrcaSlicer engine with a browser front end, on every plan. By default the slicing runs on a computer you pair from Settings › Compute (your workshop PC, with ATN Slicer installed), so all its cores go into the job and your models stay on your network. On Workshop and Production you can also choose to slice on our servers, so a slice still runs while that PC is off. Your existing OrcaSlicer profiles import in one go.
How do orders get in?
Connect your shop once: WooCommerce with a single click (the shop hands the farm a read-only key — nothing to copy), Shopify with a token, or your own custom website through the farm's shop API — a token, no plugin. The farm checks the shop every 10 minutes and orders land on the board matched to your parts by SKU. An unmatched product still imports and simply asks which part it is, once. Re-importing is safe — the same order can never land twice.
Is the trial really free?
Yes. Sign in with your Ask The Nozzle account (or create a farm with a password) and you get the full Workshop plan for 14 days — no card, nothing to cancel. When the 14 days end, the trial just ends; pick a plan if you want to carry on.
What do I need to run it?
A computer that stays on — Windows or Linux — on the same network as your printers, to run the small agent that bridges them to the dashboard, does your slicing and keeps your files. A laptop that sleeps will drop out constantly; a small always-on PC in the workshop is ideal. Slicing runs through ATN Slicer (free, Windows) on that machine or any Windows PC on your network — or on our servers on Workshop and Production.
Where do my files live?
On your own computer. Parts, G-code, 3MF and CAD are stored by the agent on the machine you run it on; the cloud holds the dashboard, the queue, the orders and the records. Nothing you slice has to leave your network unless you choose to slice on our servers.
Which printers work?
Creality K2 Plus and any Klipper / Moonraker printer; Bambu Lab X1, P1, A1 and H2D in LAN mode; FlashForge 5M, 5M Pro and AD5X; OctoPrint, PrusaLink and Duet. Mixed fleets are the normal case — that's what the dashboard is for.
How is this different from printer-monitoring tools?
Monitoring is where it starts, not where it ends. Printer Farm runs the job around the printers — orders in from your shop, stock-first works orders, slicing in the browser, dispatch across the fleet, good prints banked into stock, a true cost per part, and delivery notes out — so it runs a small shop, not just a set of cameras.
What does "beta" mean here?
It's genuinely in use — it runs a real motorsport parts shop every day, orders and all, and the first outside farms went live in September 2026 — and it's genuinely still being shaped by the people using it. You'll find rough edges; there's a report button on every page, and what's broken or confusing gets fixed, usually the same week.
